BB Glow
BB Glow, also known as Micro Therapy System (MTS), is a water based foundation treatment whereby a PMU machine with special cartridges is massaged over the face and neck area, which forces your skin into repair mode. This will help the skin achieve a brightening and lightening effect; minimise fine lines and wrinkles; and boost the skin’s ability to produce collagen.
** BB Glow / MTS is not Micro-needling or Permanent Makeup **
The results from your first session can last up to 30 days, as long as a good skin care regimen is maintained. Products with retinol and other chemicals should be avoided as they cause the sheen glow look to fade. Using such products will not affect the collagen building affects, but only the sheen glow. Results are cumulative so regular sessions are recommended to increase longevity and enhance coverage.
We recommend a minimum of 3 sessions with an interval of 4 weeks to maximise the results. After 3 sessions results may last up to 4 months. After this a booster every 3 – 4 months is suggested.
Aftercare of BB Glow
1. Makeup free for the day and let your skin recover overnight. The next morning you can wear makeup as normal
2. Skin more sensitive for 48 hours post treatment. No sunbathing (sun beds), perfumed skincare products and any direct heat (sauna, hot shower or hair dryer)
3. Avoid swimming for 7 days
4. Wear a high factor SPF
Is the treatment safe?
It is FDA Approved Skin Reconstructive System, which stimulates skin to produce collagen and elastin in the inner layer.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment takes 1.5 hours.
How often are treatments recommended?
The number of session depends on skin condition, but in a normal situation the client will need up to 3 sessions for visible results. Intervals should be 4 – 6 weeks in between sessions with maintenance treatments every 4 – 6 months. You will notice an immediate difference after the procedure and days to follow. As the regeneration cycle of the skin takes around 28 days, you will see most results after a month.
How is the procedure done?
Initially, your skin care professional will apply topical lidocaine to numb the skin and ensure a more comfortable and bearable treatment. The pen is gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered.
How long does the procedure last?
The procedure takes 30 – 45 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.
What is the downtime?
Immediately after the treatment you will notice a bright redness to the skin. The total healing depends on the Skin Needling device setting used and the number of overlapping passes your skin care professional performs. On average, patients are red up to 2 – 4 days. Many patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours.
